Voice and Speech for the StageAs a Designated Linklater Teacher, Allison's voice teaching is based on the imaginative, embodied approach of Kristin Linklater's "Freeing the Natural Voice". Also peppered with exercises from Knight-Thompson Speechwork, Louis Colaianni, Roy Hart and Patsy Rodenburg, Allison's approach is designed to free the actor physically, emotionally and imaginatively in order to bring the actor's authentic self to the text.

DialectThrough the embodied exploration of the sounds that make up language (phonetics), Allison encourages a more visceral approach to dialect acquisition. Exercises rely on contact with primary sources and the physicalization of the vibrations and resonances of each dialect. This approach to dialect moves the actor away from intellectual mimicry towards a fully realized embodiment of the character and his culture.

MovementA Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practioner, Allison is accomplished in Awareness Through Movement© and Functional Integration. Through these exercises, an actor can release unnecessary tension and create new pathways for more elegant and efficient movement.
